Welcome to my Online Portfolio

Hi, my name is Genève Simeus and I am currently a 4th-year Public Health undergraduate student at the University of Florida with double minors in Health Disparities in Society and Anthropology. I will be continuing my education at the University of Florida as a Masters of Public Health Candidate. My public health interests are community health education, minority health issues, health disparities, and global public health. I am very passionate about culturally competent care and understanding how different cultures impact health and health behaviors.

I have created this online portfolio for my International Scholars Program Capstone project. This portfolio serves as a compilation of my international and global coursework, international and cultural experiences, community service, and involvement, and campus engagement at the University of Florida. This portfolio also showcases my personal global interest and experiences, and my academic and future professional interest in international and global public health that I would like to share with you!

The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you - B.B. King

Listed above is a global map that highlights the countries that I have visited. The following countries are Haiti, United States, Dominican Republic, Canada, and Peru.

Specifically, I was born in Gonaives, Haiti. I immigrated to West Palm Beach, Florida. I have visited Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 2013 and then crossed the border to Haiti. I have visited my family in Haiti several times and have also conducted research in Gressier, Haiti. I visited family in Montreal, Quebec in 2016. I was a student volunteer on a medical mission trip in Cusco, Peru in 2019.
